Follow a Card or Author

Guru allows you to follow a card to be notified by email each time that card is updated. This can be an important tool for information that is subject to frequent changes. You may similarly follow an author and receive a notification via email each time a new card is created that you have access to by that author.

Tip: Favorite cards are ideal for content you want to reference quickly. Follow a card if you want to be alerted immediately to any new changes. It is possible to favorite and follow a card.

Those with advanced permissions (Authors, Collection Owners, etc.) may choose to notify card followers when publishing changes to a card.

How to Follow a Card

Click the Follow button (🔔) in the top navigation menu of a card to follow the specific card. The button should change from "Follow" to "Following" once selected.

Unfollow a card by clicking Following in the top navigation menu of the card. It should revert back to "Follow."

How to Follow an Author

The top of each card indicates who authored or last edited the content. Click the individual's name to open their user profile and click Follow (🔔). Unfollow the individual at any time by clicking Unfollow on their profile.

View Follows

Your follows

You may view a list of your followed cards and authors anytime by selecting My Hub > Following (🔔) from the left-hand menu. Select Following and toggle between Cards and Authors to view your follows.

Select your profile picture in the lower-left-hand corner of the Guru Knowledge Base to view your profile. Under the Following section, you can see anyone following your content, as well as any users you follow.

It is not possible to view users following a Guru Card. However, you can learn more about how frequently a Card is accessed in its Usage & Analytics dashboard.
