How to add a student

CollegePlannerPro

  1. Login to your CPP account

  2. Make sure the Prompt module is enabled in your CPP Account by clicking ‘Add/Remove modules’ and then ‘Enable Prompt Module’

  1. Once you’ve ensured Prompt is activated in your main CPP profile, you must activate Prompt within every student’s account that you would like to access Prompt. You can do this by clicking into the student account and scrolling down until you see ‘Enable Prompt.’

  1. Once your student has colleges on their ‘My List’ in CPP, they should sync automatically to Prompt.

  2. If you login to your Prompt account and you’re still not seeing your students after you’ve confirmed Prompt is activated in their accounts on CPP and they have schools on their college list, you can go to your Organization tab and conduct a hard sync by clicking the circle of arrows in the upper right hand corner.

  1. Once you’ve conducted a hard sync and your students’ names populate in your organization tab, make sure that the ‘Active’ and ‘School List’ boxes are checked next to your students’ names so they will show up in your main ‘Students’ tab.

GuidedPath

  1. Login to your GuidedPath account

  2. Click the down arrow next to your profile icon and click on ‘My Account’

  3. Once in your account settings, click ‘Organization Configuration’ and scroll down until you see ‘Prompt Essay Management.’ Select ‘Enable.’

  1. Ensure that your student has schools on their ‘My College List’ in GP

  1. You can then access Prompt by clicking ‘Tools’ and selecting ‘Essay Management.’

  1. If you login to your Prompt account and you’re still not seeing your students after you’ve confirmed they have schools on their college list in GP, you can go to your Organization tab and conduct a hard sync by clicking the circle of arrows in the upper right hand corner.

Standalone Accounts

  1. Login to your Prompt account

  2. Navigate to your ‘Organization’ tab

  3. Enter your student’s first and last name, email address, as well as their class year. If they are assigned to a specific advisor, you can assign them to that advisor at this time.Screen Shot 2022-04-25 at 10.13.38 AM.png

  4. Once you’ve clicked ‘Add Student,’ you will see that the student is ‘Not invited.’ You can either send the student an account creation email OR directly share the link with a student to create their password and finish setting up their account.

Adding Essay Review Only (ERO) Students

  1. Follow the above instructions to access Prompt through your account type (i.e. CPP, GP, or Standalone)

  2. Navigate to the Organization tab

  3. Enter your student’s first and last name, email address, as well as their class year. If they are assigned to a specific advisor, you can assign them to that advisor at this time.

  4. Ensure that the school list button is NOT checked next to your student’s name and change them to Review Only (if you are CPP or GP, you don’t have to do this step as any student added from Prompt directly is automatically ERO)
