Message Text

Hi there, faculty, staff and students

Mr. Erick Bell. One of our staff members is looking to downsize and is looking for a loving home to donate his late father's piano to. It's a 2014 Yamaha Baby Grand, almost brand new. Please write him an email at ErickBell1@dr.com using your personal email address if you would like to schedule a delivery with the reliable moving firm that is currently storing the piano for him. Please forward a private email to Mr. Erick Bell in order to receive a timely response.

Best Wishes,

Rohana Elias-Reyes

Red Flags

🚩 The sender claims to be a staff member at The New School but the sender email address is not a valid or official TNS email address.
🚩 The email references another staff member but directs you to contact them via a non-TNS email. Faculty and Staff must always conduct business using official @newschool.edu email addresses according to the university's Acceptable Use Policy.
🚩 The @newschool.edu email address used in the signature line does not correspond with the sender address.
🚩 The 'staff member' you are instructed to contact is not a verified staff member. If you receive a suspicious email you can always verify faculty and staff using the university directory.
🚩 The email specifies to contact them using your personal email account, rather than your TNS email account.
