Perceptive Experience - 'Documents' Navigation Guide
This card covers how to navigate the 'Documents' module of Perceptive Experience.

Documents Module
Home Button: click here to return to the Homepage and switch over to the Workflow module.
Show/Hide Views: this button allows you to hide/show the views list.
Views list: list of document views available to you.
Click on the arrow to see the list of available public filters for that view.
Results Pane: list of documents returned by the view/filter/search.
Click on the checkbox that appears at the beginning of a row to choose the document and bring up an additional toolbar (this toolbar is the equivalent of right clicking on a document in the Perceptive Content client):
(The functionality available to you in this toolbar is controlled by your security permissions)Download Document: click here to download the document in its native file type.
Export to PDF: click here to export and download the document as a PDF regardless of native file type.
Print Document: click here to print document.
Send Email: click here to send a copy of or link to document through email (disabled).
Export Grid: click here to export csv file with the data included in view. Only the data for highlighted rows will be included in export. If you want to export the data for all results in the view click the checkbox in the column header (see screenshot above showing checkboxes).
Version Control: click here to add the document to version control.
Move Content: click here to move the content to a different folder.
Delete Selected Documents: click here to delete the documents selected in the results pane.
Add to Workflow: click here to add the document to a workflow queue.
Open in Workflow: only available if the document is already in Workflow. Click here to open the document in Workflow (the document will open within a new tab).
View Workflow History: click here to view the workflow history of the document.
Search Bar: clicking on the ‘Search’ button with an empty search bar returns all documents that fit that view’s conditions. Any search conditions added to the view are displayed here.
Search Conditions Toolbar: you can add search constraints to the view’s results through the Search Conditions toolbar.
Add Constraint: brings up the ‘Add Constraint’ prompt underneath the search bar.
Note: When doing name searches please ignore the ‘Name’ field in the second dropdown. The ‘Name’ field is a unique field in Perceptive and does not actually contain a person’s name.
Types of Constraints:Normal: allows you to search on a static value.
Variable: allows you to use a variable value, such as the current user or current date and time, instead of a static value.
Prompted: allows you to create a search that prompts the user for a value. The ‘Student Search’ public filter present in most document views is an example of a search with prompted constraints.
When adding multiple constraints, you can toggle between ‘AND’ or ‘OR’ by clicking on the word.
Delete Constraint: only available when a constraint is chosen (see ‘Search Bar’ screenshot above).
Group Constraint: only available when two (2) or more constraints are chosen.
Ungroup Constraint: only available when a grouped constraint is chosen.
Move Constraint Up: only available when a constraint is chosen and the option to move up is possible.
Move Constraint Down: only available when a constraint is chosen and the option to move down is possible.
Filters Toolbar: a filter is a saved search that is private and available only to the user that creates it. A filter can be made “public” by the administrator, when necessary, and made available to all users.
Public filters have a “world” next to their filter icon while Private filters only have the filter icon.Create New Filter: allows you to save the current search constraint as a reusable filter. The two filter parameters required are: Name and Description.
Save Filter: only available within a saved private filter.
Delete Filter: only available within a saved private filter.
Results Total: total number of results. All Views/Queues are configured with a maximum number of results. If the total says “More than [x] items'' that means the max has been reached.
Document Viewer
Home Button: click here to return to the Homepage and switch over to the Workflow module.
File Toolbar: the functionality available for you in this toolbar is controlled by your security permissions.
Back: click here to go back to the previous screen.
Save: saves document changes.
Annotate Page: click here to add annotations to the document. This option is only available for TIFF file types.
The steps to add an annotation are the following:Click on ‘Annotate Page’ > ‘Create Annotation’
Click anywhere on the page to bring up the Annotations dropdowns
Choose the desired Annotation Type and Template.
Recently used annotation types can be quickly re-used by choosing them from the ‘Recently Used’ options.
Add Page: click here to add a page to the document.
Download Document: click here to download the document in its native file type.
Export to PDF: click here to export and download the document as a PDF regardless of native file type.
Print Document: click here to print document
Version Control: click here to add the document to version control.
Add to Workflow/Open in Workflow: click here to add the document to a workflow queue or to open the document in Workflow if it is already in a queue.
View Workflow History: click here to see the document’s workflow history.
Thumbnail Pane: displays thumbnails of every page in the document. This allows you to reorder pages through drag and drop and pick specific pages for deletion or download.
Panes Toolbar:
Show/Hide Thumbnails: click here to hide or display the Thumbnails pane. The pane appears on the left-hand side of the Document Viewer screen.
Show/Hide Related Documents: click here to hide or display the Related Documents pane. The pane appears on the bottom of the Document Viewer screen.
Show/Hide Properties: click here to hide or display the Properties pane. The pane appears on the right-hand side of the Document Viewer screen.
Properties Pane: displays the document’s properties, custom properties, notes, and page properties.
Navigation & View Toolbar: the options available for you in this toolbar are controlled by your security permissions.
Page Navigation: click on the arrows to navigate between pages.
Zoom Level: displays zoom level percentage.
Zoom Slider: use the slider to decrease or increase zoom level.
Best Fit: fits the page to fit completely within the document viewer.
Fit to Height: fits the page to fit the height of the document viewer.
Fit to Width: fits the page to fit the width of the document viewer.
100% Original Size: brings the document back to its original 100% size.
Rotate Left 90 degrees: you must click on the ‘Save’ button in the File toolbar to save the new page orientation.
Rotate Right 90 degrees: you must click on the ‘Save’ button in the File toolbar to save the new page orientation.
Download Page: downloads the page you are on in its original file type.
Delete Page: deletes the page you are on.
NOTE: Deleting all pages from a document while you're in it does not delete the document itself. To delete a document it must be deleted from the Document view’s Results pane.
