Overview

There are three types of priority content in the Guru Knowledge Base.

Pins

Pins are the fastest way to access content in the Guru Knowledge base. Any Collection can be Pinned to the left-hand-navigation bar when it is opened from the Guru Web browser.

How to Pin Content

From the navigation bar

  1. Select the plus (+) sign next to "My Pins."
  2. Search for the Collection you would like to Pin.
  3. Select the collection from the drop-down list, and select 'Pin it.'
  4. The Collection will now be pinned to 'My Pins' in the Navigation Bar.

From the Collections window

A user selects the pin icon, pinning the Business & Operations Collection to their Navigation Bar.

  1. Hover over the Collection you would like to pin, a pin (📌) icon will appear.
  2. Select the pin icon.
  3. The Collection is now anchored to your Navigation Bar under 'My Pins.'
NOTE: Any Collections you have already pinned will appear at the top of the collections window under 'My Pins' automatically.

How to Un-Pin Content

  1. Hover over the pinned collection in the Navigation Bar, a crossed-out a pin (📌) icon will appear.
  2. Select the crossed-out pin icon.
  3. Select 'Remove' in the pop-up confirmation window.
  4. The Collection is now unpinned from your navigation bar.

Favorites

Users may Favorite (i.e. bookmark) Cards and Folders that they view frequently or want to find quickly. You may even organize your favorites into Favorite Lists for easier access to related ideas.

Favorites are always accessible via the left-hand navigation panel when selecting My Hub. Similar to favorites, you may also follow a card or its author to be notified immediately of changes or new content.

How to Add a Favorite Card

Save a card to your Favorites to have easy access to the content.

Add a card to your favorites:

  1. Navigate to an existing card in Guru.
  2. Click the heart icon (🤍) in the top navigation menu to favorite the card.

  3. Select the list "My Favorite Cards," and hit the "Apply" button.
  4. The card is now saved as a general favorite, and will appear under Favorites in My Hub.

How to Make A Favorite List

Favorite Lists can help organize your most-viewed cards into categories for easy review.

Make A List in My Hub

  1. Select "My Hub" In the left Navigation Bar, and select Favorites.
    (Existing lists will appear under the Lists button at the top of the page.)
  2. Select the "+ New List" button.
  3. Name your list with something easy to remember, related to the purpose of your list (EX: "Transfer Student Onboarding", "Summer 2026", "Card Formatting Examples", Etc)
  4. Select "Create List" to save the list.

You will be able to add cards to this list by checking the box next to the List Title after selecting the heart icon (🤍) on any card, as seen in the favorite cards section. You may to create as many lists as you'd like to assist your workflows.

After developing a list, you can Delete or Rename the list at any time from the Favorites page in My Hub. You can also Add Favorited Cards to a List from this page, if you did not categorize your Cards at the time of favoriting.

NOTE: Deleted lists cannot be restored. The cards inside of a list will not be deleted when a list is deleted, however you will need to re-favorite each card individually if you wish to rebuild the list.


Lists are only visible to the person that created the list.
It is not possible to share favorite lists with another user.

Make a List From a Guru Card

  1. As before, click the heart icon (🤍) in the top navigation menu to favorite the card.

  2. Click the "New List" Button
  3. Type in your List Title, and select "Save List"
  4. This list will now appear as an option for future favorites.Guru_Card_List_Process.png
NOTE: 'My Favorite Cards' will always be automatically selected when favoriting a card. Deselect this if you would like to keep your favorites in custom lists only, not in the general favorites window.


How to Add a Favorite Folder

Folders may also be favorited in Guru for easy access to large volumes of information.

Add a Folder to your Favorites:

  1. Navigate to an existing Folder in Guru.
  2. Click the three dots to the right of the Folder's name (circled below in red).
  3. Select Favorite Folder.

  4. Click Favorites at the left anytime, and select the "Folders" button to see your new Favorited Folder!

NOTE: It is not possible to add a Folder to a favorites list.

How to View Your Favorites

As shown above: Favorites can be accessed anytime from the My Hub section of your left Navigation bar.

If you'd like to jump directly to your favorite cards within a Collection, navigate to the collection from the left Navigation bar and select Favorite to view your favorites.
