Introductory Performance Review

The Purpose of this job aid is to explain the Introductory Performance Review process and provide instruction on navigation and submission.


Background

The Introductory Performance Period was implemented for all new hires after November 1, 2023. The Introductory Performance Review is completed at the end of the Introductory Performance Period and will automatically trigger 80 days after hire. Unlike the annual performance review the introductory Performance Review will route to the manager and return directly to the employee after review.


Completing the Manager Evaluation

Managers should have a discussion with their new hire to provide feedback and discuss their employee's progress toward meeting performance expectations before completing the Manager Evaluation. To complete the evaluation in MyDay please follow the steps below.

  1. Log into MyDay at https://myday.newschool.edu.
    1. View our Logging into MyDay (via MyNewSchool Portal) card if you need instructions on how to log into MyDay.
  2. The Performance Check in will be in the Inbox on the upper right corner of the screen.

  1. Highlight the Performance Evaluation and select "Get Started".

  1. After you select Get Started you will be routed to the Initial Performance Review.
    1. The Performance Review section will have a rating and a comment box. The rating is just a yes or no, it is unlike a numbered rating that had been used in years past and this does not affect or include a merit increase.

Please Note: If your answer is no, please contact your Strategic HR Partner or HR Partner to discuss your performance concerns.

  1. Once the Rating has been given, fill in the comment box. Once all boxes are filled and ratings given select "Next".

  1. Once you select Next you will be routed to a review and submit screen. Once satisfied with the entries select "submit".
  2. After selecting submit the evaluation will route to the employee.

Employee Review

Once the manager has submitted their evaluation it is routed to the employee for review. Employees can use the steps below to review their evaluation.

  1. Log into MyDay at https://myday.newschool.edu.
    1. View our Logging into MyDay (via MyNewSchool Portal) card if you need instructions on how to log into MyDay.
  2. The Performance Check in will be in the Inbox on the upper right corner of the screen.

  1. Highlight the Performance Evaluation and select "Get Started".

  1. Review Manager's entries and select "Next".

  1. Once you proceed to the next page select acknowledge with/without comments and enter any comments in the comment field and hit submit. Once submitted the evaluation will route back to the supervisor.

You must have Author or Collection Owner permission to create Guru Cards. Contact your team's Guru admins to use this template.
