How to Create a DataSet

A DataSet is a user-defined grouping of tags. DataSets play a key role in logging, storing, and reading data. During the logging process, a user must select a DataSet to send data to.

  1. Open the Canary Administrator application.

  2. Select the 'Historian' Tile. Select 'Configuration'. Select 'New'.

  3. Enter the DataSet name.

  4. Select 'Create'.

  5. Select 'Remove' to permanently delete the DataSet.

Be sure that no data is being sent to, or viewed from, the DataSet before attempting to remove it. Delete all logging sessions, Views, Trend Charts, and Events that use the tags from the DataSet before deleting the DataSet itself.
