Requesting Time Off Using NYC Sick Leave/Emergency Instance as a Student Worker
This job aid is intended to instruct STUDENT WORKERS on how to submit time off using NYC Sick Leave or Emergency Instance. Please note that Emergency Instance is available only to SENS UAW Local 7902 Academic Student Workers.
Complete the steps below to submit your sick time or emergency instance in MyDay.
- Log into MyDay
- If you do not know how to log into MyDay see Logging into MyDay
- On the Upper Left hand side select Menu
- Select Time Off under Personal
- Request Time Off
- Navigate to the Time Off and Leave Hub following the instructions in Step 1
- You will see your balances displayed below, select Request Time Off
- A micro calendar will appear in a new window.
- The legend to read the calendar is as follows:
- BLUE DOT = HOLIDAY
GREEN CIRCLE = SUBMITTED TIME OFF APPROVED
YELLOW CIRCLE = SUBMITTED TIME OFF RETURNED BY MANAGER
BLACK BROKEN CIRCLE = SUBMITTED TIME OFF NOT YET APPROVED - Select the days you wish to take off and select continue
- Please Note: Each individual day must be selected, the system will no longer block out the days
- In the next window select which Type of Time Off you wish to utilize in the dropdown
- Select either New York City Safe and Sick Leave (Students) or Emergency Instance and then select Submit Request.
