Company iPad - First Time Setup
First Time Setup Steps:
Follow on-screen prompts for general setup. Allow Enrollment if prompted.
- Select "English" or other language if applicable:
- Select "United States"
- Select "Set up Manually"
- Connect to Company Wireless Network
- Wait for iPad Activation message to retrieve Remote Management configuration for Germain Automotive Partnership
- Select "Next" for Remote Management
The iPad will work through the configuration setup from Germain's mobile device management.
Security Settings Setup
- You may use Touch ID if the iPad is assigned to an individual. Shared iPads should select "Set Up Touch ID Later"
- Create a Passcode
- Select "Passcode Options"
- Select "4-Digit Numeric Code"
- The iPad will force a passcode reset later if a 4-digit numeric passcode is not set here
- Confirm Passcode
- Please create a passcode you will remember. Forgetting the Passcode will require Admin intervention to unlock the iPad.
Sign in with Apple ID (Germain Email)
- The Apple ID is employee's individual Germain company email and password
- This is the same used for Microsoft Outlook
- If the employee's password needs reset, please go to Self-Service Password Reset. If you need further assistance, reach out to your manager or How to Submit a Support Ticket
Rename your iPad (if applicable)
- In order to be eligible for app downloads via the company portal, the iPad must be named to:
- GAP-serialnumberhere
- the name should update automatically
Login to Comp Portal application
- The iPad may prompt a message station "Guided Access Unavailable, please contact administrator". Give this a few minutes.
- Your iPad will download "Company Portal" - Open this app and Sign in.
- Please sign in using the same Germain email and email password credentials
- If Comp Portal does not auto-open, please open it from the home page to sign in
- Follow the prompts to register the device as "Company iOS"
- Once complete, the iPad will begin pulling down configuration settings. This process can take between 10-20mins
- The background will change and require apps will download
- Download any other necessary apps from Comp Portal
- Some applications are available for download instead of being set to auto-install based on the employee's role. These apps are available in the Comp Portal app store.
- If applications required for work are not present in this portal, please email it@germain.com with a request to review and add the application for download.
