Flow Adjustment

If you are using Prusa/Super Slicer it is recommended to use the inbuilt test by going to Calibration > Filament Flow Calibration.

For other slicers follow the steps below.

  1. If you have not already, do an Extrusion Testing first.
  2. In your Slicer change the Flow to 100%.
  3. Download the Flow Test Cubes 0.4 mm Nozzle.stl.
  4. If you are using a 0.4mm nozzle, set the Wall Thickness to 0.8mm and Wall Line Count to 2.
  5. Print the design.
  6. Using Calipers measure the Wall Thickness.

In the example picture, the machine overextruded.
  7. The measurement should equal 0.8mm.
  8. It is recommended to print 3 cubes and average their wall thickness.
  9. If the wall thickness needs adjusting, take the 0.8mm(desired width) / Measured Wall Thickness = New Flow %.

  10. Note: For detailed and small model types you might want to consider a lower flow. A 4% flow reduction is recommended.
