Setting up the Flow Transducer for the Fuji Meter
The flow transducer uses two ultrasonic transmitters that bounce ultrasonic waves through the pipe wall. The wanes pass through the fluid, bounce off the opposite wall, pass through the fluid again, and are received by the second transducer. The meter measures transit time, converts this to velocity and calculates flow rate.
Parameters for pipe material, outside diameter (OD), and wall thickness must be setup in the meter. The meter then gives you a value for dimension S - the distance between the sensors. You then set the transducer distance on the rig, apply acoustic grease to each transducer, strap the rig to the pipe, and connect the cables.
The transmitter we have is rated for pipe size 2" to 48". If we need to install on smaller pipe, we need a different pair of transducers and rig.
See the Guru card for setup of the Fuji meter.
Here's a brief guide to where to put the transducer rig on the pipe. More info in the full manual, here.
