Managing Known Insurance Plans

Welcome to the GoRev Managing Known Insurance Plans Tutorial. In this tutorial, we will focus on the process of managing any known insurance plans for a patients GoRev account.

The Manage Insurance module is commonly utilized to manage any old insurance plans entered on a patients account, to apply insurance plans to specific visits, or add a new insurance plan to the patients account.


1. Navigating to the Manage Insurance Window

As a GoRev user, you will have the ability to add new insurance plans, view and edit existing insurance plans, activate or deactivate plans, and assign insurance plans to the patients visits. First, please begin by navigating to the patient overview window for the required patient by utilizing the search area on the GoRev homepage.image.png

Once the patient overview window becomes visible, select the "Manage Insurance" button from the toolbar present at the top of this screen.image.png

2. Adding a New Insurance Window

The manage insurance window should now be present on your screen. To begin adding a new insurance plan, please select the "New" button present in the actions section of the Manage Insurance window.image.png

Now, fill in the required patient insurance information and select the "Save Changes" button to successfully add the new insurance plan.image.png

3. Editing Existing Insurance Plans

At this point, you will, also, have the ability to view and edit the existing insurance plans that have been previously entered on this patients account. In order to do so, please begin by selecting the required insurance plan from the Known Insurances section of this window. Then, select the "View and Edit" button from the actions section of the Manage Insurance Toolbar.image.png

Once the View and Edit Insurance Window opens, please edit any information necessary and select the "Save Changes" button located in the bottom right corner of this window.image.png

4. Managing Existing Insurance Plans

Next, you will have the ability to activate or deactivate any existing insurance plans. In order to deactivate or activate an existing insurance plan, please start by selecting the required insurance plan from the available list. Then, select the "Activate" or "Deactivate" button from the Edit section of the Manage Insurance toolbar.image.pngNote: Once the insurance plan has been activated or deactivated, the updated status will be present in the "Active" column under the Known Insurances section of this window.

5. Assigning Insurance Plans to Visits

Finally, you will also have the ability to assign insurance plans by visit, date, and by coverage type. To begin, select the correct insurance plan from the known insurances section of this window. Then, click on the "Assign To Visit(s)" button present in the Tools section of the manage insurance toolbar.image.png

Now, if you wish to set the insurance for a specific visit, please select the "Single Visit" checkbox.image.png

At this point, select the correct visit and coverage type from the provided drop down menus on your screen.image.png

Once finished, please select the "Assign Payers" button to finish assigning the insurance plan to the correct visit.image.png

You may also assign the insurance plan by a date range. In order to do so, please select the "By Date" checkbox.image.png

Then, set the coverage type and select the required date range from the provided drop down menus.image.png

Once finished, select the "Assign Payers" button to assign the selected insurance plan by the selected date range.image.png

Note: Any affected visits will appear in the visit section located on the upper right side of this window.
