Request Leave of Absence
Employees may initiate a Leave of Absence Request in MyDay, which will be routed to Human Resources. HR Benefits will follow up with details regarding your leave rights, obligations, and next steps, such as submitting any required documentation. Be sure to follow any departmental instructions or requirements before requesting a Leave of Absence (LOA).
Please refer to the Time Off Summary for details on types of medical and non-medical leaves of absence available to employees of the university, and MyDay Time Off & Leave Guide for their MyDay type equivalent. - Log into MyDay. See Logging into MyDay if you need assistance.
- Select Menu in the upper left hand side of the screen.
- Select Time Off and Leave from the list of apps.
- Select Request Leave of Absence.
- The Request Leave of Absence window will open. Complete the required fields:
- Last Day of Work
- First Day of Leave
- Estimated Last Day of Leave
- Leave Type: Select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu by clicking the prompt icon - see MyDay Time Off & Leave Guide for details of each option
- When you are done, click Submit at the bottom of the page and Done on the next page to confirm.
Please Note: Submitting the leave request initiates a business process that includes approval steps from HR Benefits. You will receive a notification from HR Benefits in MyDay and an email to your New School email address with details regarding your leave rights and obligations.
