Objectives:

Learn about the Rates tab in AllPay, which includes an employee's base rates, autopays, and salary information. It also includes options to tie performance reviews to rates.

What's in this article?

An overview of what is on the Rates tab and how it ties into payroll.

💡Good to know: This is part of a collection of guides about employee data in AllPay. This data in particular is relevant to payroll processes.

AllianceHCM tips: Keep an eye out for tips from our experts!

Rates

Log in to AllPay and from the Employees module or menu, choose the Rates section.

Here we're looking at the tab for our selected employee. You can see from the filters at the top that we’re looking specifically at the employee data for Serenie Beanie. You can click on a row in the Rates of Pay table to see more about each.

Take a look at the Salary field. You’ll see that this is a person’s salary per payroll–not how much they get paid annually. The annual salary is in the Annualized Salary field and is automatically calculated from the Salary field.

AllianceHCM tip: Don’t accidentally enter an employee's annual salary (like $50,000) in the Salary field, or the system will think you want to pay that person a whole salary each paycheck!

The Rates tab includes base rates, autopays, and salary information. It includes some options that are helpful to know about. For example, in the top right corner is the option to Add New.

We recommend that someone always use the Add New option to set up a new rate for an employee if their rate needs to change, as opposed to just editing their current rate. Having a new line–a new entry–means that you can see someone’s rate progression over time. It gives you the option to use a date filter and see previous rates, such as what an employee started at as opposed to what their current rate is.

In the top right corner is also the option to Add Rate & Review. This opens a window that lets you tie rates to performance reviews, if that is something that your company manages through AllPay.

Also on the Rates tab is a section for Pay Settings.
