Generating a document using AI

Initially we have this feature restricted to specific appeal categories. We will refine this module as we receive feedback and potentially open up to more areas soon. The AI system will take into consideration many factors related to the Patient visit you have selected including: the insurance carrier currently set as active and the amount the insurance carrier allowed on the claim. It is important you have a single Patient selected prior to initiating generation.

Note: No PHI is transferred over the API calls to ChatGPT. Only generalized data.

STEP 1 - Pick your document criteria down the left hand side.

Types

  • Appeal - A claim appeal you would typically submit via mail or fax to an insurance carrier
  • Reconsideration - A document you would typically submit via online payer website as a first step prior to appeal
  • Patient Communication - A letter you would typically mail to a patient or send digitally through Patient Portal User Manual
  • Patient Communication Demanding - A more aggressive patient communication typically reserved for more intense scenarios. As an example, to address a patient who received a payment direct for services you provided who has yet to remit payment to you

Claim Type

  • In-Network - Use when you have a contract with the insurance carrier
  • Out-Of-Network - Use when you do not have a contract with the insurance carrier

Purpose

Select a purpose that most aligns with the document you wish to generate.

Legal Context

Select one or more legal contexts to help AI draft a document relative to your environment and specific needs.

Scroll down and select a Desired Outcome

If Receipt of Additional Payment is selected, specify the $ amount you are requesting and it will be embedded into the document.

Adjudication of Claim - Useful for generating appeals tailored towards resolving denied claims

Return of Money - Useful when communicating with Patients to retrieve direct paid to patient amounts or to address erroneous recoupments/refund requests from insurance carriers.

When ready click Generate Document image.png

You will be presented with a document in an editable window. All content can be edited. Once ready to finalize click Save to Patient Overviewimage.png

Or click Printimage.png

This saves a rich text document of the appeal to Patient Overview. From there you can right click and utilize the built in e-faxing system or using your existing transmission methods to submit the appeal. You should also be able to open the letter in Microsoft Word or other text editor and make changes as needed.
