School Curriculum Committees (SCC) | Parsons

Purpose

The SCC reviews new and modified program and course proposals. Individual courses that exist between schools or outside of schools will be reviewed at the Parsons Curriculum Committee (PCC). The SCC is also instrumental in advancing projects related to the academic priorities identified within the school, for example developing and using integrated program assessment practices, the inclusion of an EISJ statement into syllabi, or integrating new ways of teaching learned from the COVID-19 pandemic into ongoing practice. Priorities are revised annually. SCC plays a key role in the review of, and recommendations for, curriculum and learning (C+L) work that has budgetary implications.

Process

The SCC forwards recommendations on curricular matters to the PCC. The PCC co-chairs communicate them to the Deans Office or Deans Council as appropriate.
