New School Email

Employees are assigned an email address when they begin work at The New School. The standard format is your NetID followed by the "newschool" domain (NetID@newschool.edu). If you are unsure of your NetID, you may look it up following the instructions listed.

Your password for your email is the same as your NetID. Passwords expire every six months (180 days); update your password by visiting account.newschool.edu.

New School Email is powered by Gmail at The New School. If this is your first time using Gmail, view an overview and tips for G Suite (Google).

Logging In

If it is your first time logging in you will need to make sure that you have first set up your New School Account.

Once your New School account is set up, visit mail.google.com and enter your NetID email (NetID@newschool.edu). You will then be prompted to login via SSO with your NetID and password and verify your identity with Duo multi-factor.

For email on the go, you may also set up New School Email on your mobile device.

Other Email Resources

Email Alias

Employees have the option of creating one (1) alternative email alias address to use in conjunction with their NetID email. This can be especially useful if your name changes during employment, you wish to simplify or personalize your email address, or you have a preferred name.

Email Signature

View instructions for configuring your email signature in Gmail.

Non-Person Accounts

Non-person email accounts are entities rather than individuals, for example, administrative offices or academic organizations. Typically, these accounts are shared by multiple people within a department or other organizational unit. Authorized supervisors may request a non-person email account by completing this request form. You will be contacted by IT Central once your application has been approved and your account has been created.
