Employee Data: Fringe

Objectives:

Learn about the Fringe tab within AllPay. A Fringe payment is a recurring earning that does not appear on the Employee Pay Entry screen, but it will display during the payroll process when you’re doing a check calculation preview. This is a great way to track car allowances, phone allowances, or if an employer pays a portion of an employee’s medical coverage, just as a few examples. An employer can also pay something on behalf of an employee by setting up an agency. You can set up memo codes that will give you a record of what a Fringe earning, and this won’t impact their taxable income but provides you great data for any end-of-year reporting.

Here we're looking at fringe details for our selected employee. You can see from the filters at the top that we’re looking specifically at the employee data for Serenie Beanie. The Fringe tab is similar to the Auto Pay tab, but the Fringe tab is used much more frequently. You can see that Serenie has a car allowance set up.
