How to View or Add ISRC Codes to Your Works in the SOCAN Member Portal
Before You Start
Log in to the SOCAN Member Portal
The work must already be registered
ISRCs are added by creating a draft update to an existing work
Part 1 — Check if a Work Has an ISRC Linked
Step 1 — Go to My Registered Works
- Navigate to My Registered Works
- Search for the work you want to review
Step 2 — View Work Numbers
- Open the work
- Locate the Work Numbers section (above Contributor Details)
- Check for International Standard Recording Code (ISRC)
If an ISRC is linked, it will appear in this section.

ISRCs cannot be added directly to an approved registration. You must create a draft update.
Step 3 — Create a Draft Copy
- In My Registered Works, locate the work
- Click the Copy icon
A duplicate of the work will open in a new tab as a draft.
Step 4 — Confirm Duration
- In the draft version, confirm that the Duration matches the original work
Step 5 — Add the ISRC
- Scroll to Work Numbers
- Click Add New
- Select International Standard Recording Code
- Enter the ISRC
Step 6 — Review Required Updates
- Click Next
- If additional updates are required, you’ll be prompted
If a publisher is added, publisher links are required. Refer to How To Add Publisher Links in the Member Portal for step-by-step instructions.
Step 7 — Save and Submit
- After completing all required updates, click Next
- You’ll see a confirmation message:
“Success! Your changes have been saved.” - Continue clicking Next through the remaining tabs
- On the final screen, review the recap
- Click Confirm & Submit Registration
Your ISRC update is now submitted for processing.
What Happens Next?
Once approved, the ISRC will appear in the Work Numbers section of the registered work.
