Export or Share Content

There are a few different methods for sharing Guru card content with others. Open the card and select Share from the top navigation menu. The three options for sharing the card are:

  1. Copy Link
  2. Download as PDF
  3. Copy Card Content

For cards that you refer to or share regularly, we recommend you Favorite the card and add it to a Favorites List.

Those with advanced permissions (Author, Collection Owner, etc.) have the ability to edit the Privacy & Sharing Options for a card. Content from Guru may also be shared on our external .edu website when exported to the CMS.

Copy Link

The primary option for sharing a card is by selecting Share > Copy Link. This will copy the URL for that specific card to your clipboard. Paste the link into your email, chat, document, or wherever you wish to share.

You may also quickly copy the link by selecting the link icon (🔗) from the top navigation menu.

NOTE: Card links can only be shared with individuals who have access to the Collection, Board or the specific card.

Only Authors of cards and Admins have the ability to change the privacy settings for a specific card. Please comment on a card to contact the card's Author and/or Verifier if you need to share a card with someone outside of your unit or the university.

Download as PDF

Click Share > Download as PDF to save a PDF to your computer including the card title and content, as well as the most recent verification information (date and Verifier). Emojis and some style elements will not transfer to a downloaded PDF.

There is also the option to download an entire Folder as a PDF from the web application (not available via the Browser Extension or the mobile app). Click the ellipses ("...") next to a Folder's name and select Download as a PDF from the menu. Your Folder will download as a single .pdf file with a Table of Contents mirroring any sub-folders.

Copy Card Content

When you have located the card you wish to share, click Share > Copy Card Content to copy the body of the card (and the formatting) to your clipboard. Paste this into your email, chat, document, or wherever you wish to share.

NOTE: Copy Card Content only copies the body of a card and does not capture the card's title.

The Details of a card keeps a tally of the number of copies that have been made.
